Both Cheetahstar and our previous medicine cat Watermint are now gone, so there's a lot new going on in RavineClan. We could use more cats, but overall we're doing pretty good!
I am sorry to say that there will be an absence among our presence; I, Raven, will be taking a vacation for about two weeks. From the 18th to the 31st. You also should know that all mini-plots have been put off, seeing as Dark has returned! Celebrate! Don't forget to advertise, everyone, vitally important! ~Raven, Ineffable and Unforgettable Leader of TealClan~ 7/14/07
The new leader for RavineClan has been chosen: Fawkes! Congrats. ^^
During Dark's absence, Clan leaders are encouraged to think of a plot that will involve their Clan only.
Also, ADVERTISE! We could use some more active members. Post about the Dawn Clans on Neopets, other Proboards sites, or any other place that you can think of to find new members.
~Stormeh, Leader of CherryClan~
BrookClan need she-cats of any ages. We've got two she-cats total, including Fernstar. We are still without a medicine cat, so please apply.
The War is over, but is the danger past?
For many long season, a great war raged between the four Clans. Kits were murdered in their sleep; apprentices were slaughtered after only a few dawns of training; warriors were lucky to live to recieve their first apprentice. Clans went through leaders in a short matter of dawns instead of seasons. Finally, four leaders decided to end the War and save what remained of their Clans before all four Clans fell to injuries or illness. With the threat gone, the Clans began to grow again.
But does the threat remain, or is the peace permanant?

A lithe, dark tom slipped easly through the debre of the Hollows. This place was always a wreck, but it made for a good place to hide... Prey was sometimes hard to catch, but there were other places to catch food. The tom flicked his tail angrily, not once glancing over his shoulder to be sure the small she-cat was following. How dare she do this?! Without even talking to him, too! His amber eyes gleamed darkly as a thought occured to him. I'll make Redfeather keep an eye on this one... It was common knowledge that not many of the Outcasts liked Redfeather, but Dewdrop found her very useful. If he said the right things, she'd do anything for him. Still, such amusement did not make the situation any better. "You won't tell the others, will you? You know I'm weak now, but that doesn't mean the others have to know about this weakness in our defenses," the small black she-cat behind him said, her voice soft and dark. She followed easily along behind him, slipping under fallen branches where he had to jump over. The two were nearing their "camp," where the other Outcasts were probably wondering where they'd been....

Redfeather was pacing. She did that a lot lately, her amber eyes darting around, sometimes narrowing if they fell upon another cat. She had been waiting in the makeshift camp for a while now, having returned from hunting. Prey was scarce as ever in the destroyed area, but she had managed to find a bird stupid enough to land here. The big raven now lay not too far from her, untouched. She didn't care about food, but hunting, that was nice. A manic gleam entered her eyes. She was waiting for some action. She wanted something to do. Staying in this outland, while the clans lived on in their flourishing lands, it infuriated her. She wanted to destroy them, to feel her claws sink into flesh, her teeth to taste the blood of enemy cats. She had no regard for her own life, she was crazed. There was only one cat she respected in the world, and right now he was gone, and she was waiting for him. She would obey his every word, any command he gave her. Because he was strong, he could lead, he would show them the way to greatness. The thought made her giddy with excitement. He was the only cat Redfeather would bow to, the only cat she would never speak out against, never bare her fangs against. No, she respected him, and rare as they was, it meant she would follow him to the death. But where was he? She'd gone through the trouble of fetching him some fresh-kill, and it would make quite the meal. The big she-cat's dangerous claws began to knead the ground. Perhaps she would go hunting again... but no, she didn't want to miss him when he came back. Besides, she knew that if she weren't pacing in front of it, one of the other cats would take the raven for their own. Of course, if anyone tried it now, she'd flay them before they could so much as get their teeth into the meal. That was Redfeather, not afraid of a little bloodshed, a little murder.

Silverheart kept herself in some of the darker shadows, but still keeping up with the others. Her face, hidden by the darkness held a scowl. She was growing thinner by the second and her stomach growled far too often. "Dewdrop!" She yowled, not caring if she was being defiant. "When are we going to get some fresh-kill? I'm starving! Can't we just take over the clan territory now? They're stuffing their bellies like kittypets, and we're stuck here with next to nothing." Her amber eyes portrayed a deep anger, now amplified because of her current complains. She focused them on Dewdrop, not bothering to move them. There were still scraps of prey around the Hollows, but they were hard for the she-cat to catch. In her heart the wanting to kill those clan cats felt greater than the entire forest. She imagined ripping those goody-goody warriors to shreds. She tried to take out her anger on the prey for now, but the thought of killing filled her heart with an irreplaceable pleasure. Causing her to laugh uncontrollably and scaring away what little prey she was able to track down. Scoffing at losing her catch, she blamed her incapability to catch prey on there being no prey at all. A simple excuse for her sadistic ways.

Cobradance was laying in the camp, with a paw out infront of his face. He was watching himself flex his claws and as it seemed, he was the only one who was actully calm in that camp...which was kind of an eerie thing. He had eaten a small mouse eariler and was'nt concerned about food right now. Nor was her concerned about the two impatient she-cats in their little make-shift camp. He merely sat there, thinking, as he watched himself flex his claws. He would get them. Every last one of them. Those who dared to stifle his curious mind, those who were as stupid as to belive in such stupid leaders deserved to die. He'd wait...for as long as he had too, just so he could make sure he'd be able to get them all...the ones who called themselves 'clanners'.

A dark grin spread over Dewdrop's face as multiple cats called his name as he slipped into the small make-shift camp. Inkpaw followed in silence, glaring at her leader's back. "Don't worry, my comrades," he began, his low voice soft and gently tugging all attention to him. "We won't go hungry tonight..." He paused to grin at them all, sitting and pulling his tail over his paws. "We've been hired... by the most unusual of employers." Again he paused, his tail flicking lightly. He could scent their hunger. All of them were hungry, but it made them yearn even more for flesh and flowing blood. "Before we make our move, let's eat. A quick stop in RavineClan's territory, I think. BrookClan's looking a bit famished themselves..." Another dark smile came to his face. Behind him, Inkpaw flicked her tail anxiously. She didn't care much for actual battle... It was the fear she longed for. Even as a kit, Inkpaw had loved to see fear in the eyes of another cat. Dewdrop could give that to her. Once she was known officially as a member of the Outcasts, all clanners would shudder at the sound of her name. Speaking of names... Dewdrop sat up, frowning slightly. "These names do not suit us. They are clan names," he spat with disgust. "We are no longer clan-scum, so I say we abandon these names for new ones, better names." He flicked his tail for them to voice their agreement aloud.

Silverheart didn't appreciate being in the dark about who their "employers" were, but she knew better than to question Dewdrop. The thought of fresh-kill made her lick her muzzle in delight. She hadn't gone to sleep with a full belly since her kittypet days. But now, she wouldn't even think of her past. Stealing from those useless clan-cats would be quite a delight. Her interest peaked when Dewdrop mentioned dropping their warrior names. "Now your thinking, Dewdrop." She made a crooked smile, showing off her sharp teeth. Come to think of it, the she-cat already had a few names in mind. She flicked her tail, wondering how the rest of the gathered cats would react to the idea. Or perhaps, an order? Yes, dropping their names was an order that seemed to be disguised as a friendly suggestion. Although, the word "friendly" didn't seem to exist here.
The stocky male sat a few paces away from the rest of the group, aloof as always. His pelt was a dark ashy grey flecked with light silver, giving it an almost frosty look. Piercing golden eyes stood out from his dark face, looking upon Dewdrop and the rest of the outcasts with an expression devoid of emotion. His broad body was straight and rigid like a board, waiting for the responses of the rest of the outcasts. Not voicing his opinion outloud, he nodded his head curtly and flicked his tail, meaning that he was in agreement. Of course even if he wasn't, he wouldn't have mentioned it. It would do him no good to argue with the leader. But this was a desicion he personally agreed with. Ravenheart..he was eager to strike that name was his memory forever.
He glanced around at the rest of the cats, seemingly eager to pay back the clans tenfold. They were fools for wearing their feelings so openly, the crazed lust for blood and death. Fools, and someday it would surely destroy them, for having such a want. But Ravenheart could wait, perhaps for years, he would wait and then strike. Their lust would eventually be their weakness and his observations now would help him take advantage of it.

ooc|| Whoops, sorry, I forgot about Devi. o.o I'll go work on her bio and bring her in a-sap. x)
Redfeather leapt up at sight of Dewdrop, her eyes wide as he spoke. She gave a malevolent grin. So they had an employer. That meant battling, lots and lots of battling. She didn't care who they were, or what she'd be fighting, but the idea of raking her claws through flesh pleasured her in the utmost. At the mention of food, she glanced at the raven at her feet. She would give it to Dewdrop later, then. However, an displeasure this may have ensued in her immediately vanished at the idea of throwing away her name. "Yes! Let's be gone of these soft names!" She sneered. Redfeather. Ugh. How she hated her clan name. It was so generic, so... sissy. Words raced through her head as she thought of a more suitable name. Blood, that described her pelt and her personality. Or maybe Scream. She closed her eyes, imagining the strangled cries of her victims as she killed thim. The image made her giddy with excitement, and she stared at Dewdrop, hungry for more. "What shall our new names be?" Would he choose them? She would be honored to let him name her. Or perhaps he'd let them choose. She didn't care, as long as she never heard the name Redfeather again.

'A employer?' Cobradance thought, a bit interested. He could'nt imagian who this mysterous employer could be, though. Next thing he heard, was Dewdrop, declaring that they should change their names. He did'nt mind his name though and thought it suited him...but, sure, why not. A new name could'nt do any harm. "Fine with me." He said, loud enough so they could hear, but not loud enough to shout.

He moved with a snake-like elegance as he glided out of his hiding spot, his light silver form wading its way towards the front. He was a lean warrior, with sharp black claws and a black canine tooth. He yawned, showing his oddly colored teeth, and looked at Dewdrop with sharp green-black eyes. Sitting down, his silver to black tail flicking behind him, Shiloh meowed quietly, almost as if none of this was his concern, "I already have a new name. Stripepaw did not suit me." He licked his chest with his pink tongue, calm as ever, a composed presence in the light of the Outcasts' anger. He was always calm, no matter what the issue. It was a weird calm, almost like the feeling you have right before something goes horribly wrong. The tabby looked at Dewdrop again, before his haunting gaze flicked from Redfeather, to Ravenheart, to Cobradance, to Silverheart, and past Inkpaw. Then he looked at nobody in particular, though his face and mannerisms all pointed to the fact that he was completely engaged, no matter how blank his eyes appeared. Employers did not matter to him. He was at peace, here. He needed no Clan. These fellow outcasts were good enough for him. Admittedly, when they had dominated the entire forest he would feel pleased, happy even. But if they didn't, he was fine. He was a rogue who liked company, no matter how bitter that company may have been.

Dewdrop glanced at Redfeather, glad that at least one of them seemed genuinely enthusiastic. He glanced over at Shiloh. "No, you shouldn't have to change your name. You chose your name, it is your own. Just as Devi shouldn't have to change her name..." A frown came to his face. "A name is like a label on your spirit, it should be personal, not something some leader decides to call you without so much as consulting you. " He flicked his tail to Redfeather, nodding softly. "You shall choose your own names, of course." "I already know what mine'll be. Ink," the small black she-cat said, loving the feel of the name on her tongue. "My mother was right to choose that name. It's dark and forboding, and it suits me," the young cat decided. "Ink I shall be," she stated finally.

Ravenheart nodded at their choice of names. They were decent names that could very well back up any reputation they might gain here, being outcasts. He had thought long and hard about his name, considering he had been wanting to dump it the moment he left the clan and even before that. Ravenheart...it made him sick to his stomach. He had toyed with several possiblities of names, before he had come up with one that summed him up completely.
After Ink had finished talking, Ravenheart raised his head and said simply, "Your idea is a good one. I have a new name as well, Shaded," he told the group of outcasts, his voice deep. And with that, he fell silent again, waiting to see what everyone else would come up with, his ashy grey tail flickering back and forth while his piercing golden eyes observed each in turn.
ooc: I love shaded ^ ^, i thought about faded and fatality too, but i think i like shaded best, i might use the other names for other characters, who knows

Silverheart was not sure what to choose. Perhaps, Blood? The delicious liquid that flowed from a dead being's body once she's sunk her claws into them. Or perhaps Terror or Pain. So many possibilities that could describe her soul and feelings. That one word that echoed in her mind...Kill...yes, Kill could be sufficient as well. The choices overwhelmed her mind, as she didn't pay much attention to the other chosen names except for one..."Ink". How could she keep her clan given name? Surely she could think of something else! With a pitch black pelt such as hers, she had so many greater choices. Then, the ideal name that made her smile her crooked smile whenever she heard it slipped into her head. "Discord." She announced proudly, already wearing her sinful expression. "My new name shall be Discord." Oh yes it fit quite well.
Silverheart was no more, there was only Discord that occupied her soul. It felt like her last load of her kittypet and clan history had been dumped in a place now far far behind her. "And what of you, Dewdrop?" She raised her voice so all could hear. "What shall your new name be?"
ooc:// It took me forever to think up 'Massacre'. xD But, I love it so. ^^ Edit: Sorry sorry sorry sorry for the super last minute-ness! But I had to change the name. >< The love for it sort of died down when I thought of a new one. -brick'd-

Cobradance silently listened to the cats who had first declared their new names. He then thought for a momment. He did'nt dislike the name he had. Cobradance. It suited him. But he supposed it was time for a change...He tried to think. Something that would suit him..." Then I will be known as Odsidian." He declared.
(I don't know if any of you all know this, but Odsidian is Volcanic glass. Lave that cooled so quickly that no crystals formed on it. And the color of it is black. )

Shiloh had closed his eyes, sitting still as a statue, listening to the voices of his fellow Outcasts rumble and whirl together, forming one soul, one purpose. Shiloh. Devi. Ink. Faded. Massacre. Obsidian. The names all held a little bit of each cat's spirit, just as Dewdrop had said. He was not moving, just listening, just etching each of their names into his memory. It was befitting that a cat choose their own name when they come of age, not that some other choose for them. Stripepaw? How creative was that? Shiloh. Now that was a name. It had so many subtleties behind it, so many clues to unravel...

))Sorry I haven't posted. I had a name for Dewdrop, but I forgot it and didn't want to post until I remember. I've got it now, though. ^^;;((
Dewdrop thought for several long moments. He wasn't really listening as the others decided on names. He wanted a name that was dark, but not violent, and showed that he wasn't going to be taking grief...Stone? To show that he'd be stone-strong in his decisions? Nah... This decision would perhaps determine whether the other Outcasts would believe in his own rigid beliefs. Wait! What about Rigid? A smile spread across his face. "Those are all excellent names. And mine shall be Rigid."
