Both Cheetahstar and our previous medicine cat Watermint are now gone, so there's a lot new going on in RavineClan. We could use more cats, but overall we're doing pretty good!
I am sorry to say that there will be an absence among our presence; I, Raven, will be taking a vacation for about two weeks. From the 18th to the 31st. You also should know that all mini-plots have been put off, seeing as Dark has returned! Celebrate! Don't forget to advertise, everyone, vitally important! ~Raven, Ineffable and Unforgettable Leader of TealClan~ 7/14/07
The new leader for RavineClan has been chosen: Fawkes! Congrats. ^^
During Dark's absence, Clan leaders are encouraged to think of a plot that will involve their Clan only.
Also, ADVERTISE! We could use some more active members. Post about the Dawn Clans on Neopets, other Proboards sites, or any other place that you can think of to find new members.
~Stormeh, Leader of CherryClan~
BrookClan need she-cats of any ages. We've got two she-cats total, including Fernstar. We are still without a medicine cat, so please apply.
The War is over, but is the danger past?
For many long season, a great war raged between the four Clans. Kits were murdered in their sleep; apprentices were slaughtered after only a few dawns of training; warriors were lucky to live to recieve their first apprentice. Clans went through leaders in a short matter of dawns instead of seasons. Finally, four leaders decided to end the War and save what remained of their Clans before all four Clans fell to injuries or illness. With the threat gone, the Clans began to grow again.
But does the threat remain, or is the peace permanant?

So there IS life after death... « Thread Started on Nov 4, 2007, 6:47pm »
Shock ripped through the CherryClan camp as Nightstar's body was carried by Tawnystone into the camp, the rest of the patrol either already there or following. She pulled his body to the center of the clearing and placed it down gently. Blood stained his black-and-white pelt and his abnormal eyes were closed. The former CherryClan leader seemed so much smaller now that he was dead and cold...
Cats that had stayed behind crept from their dens, wails of grief rising from some mouths as they sighted their dead leader. The cats moved in, unsure about what had happened, though most all supposed they could wait until the morning...
Tawnystone padded back into the camp, paws muddy. The morning light was barely shining above the treetops, but she couldn't hardly see the camp, her senses dulled with grief. Ravenflight stood at the entrance of the camp. He padded up to her and pushed his muzzle against hers.
"He was a good friend," he meowed quietly. "We won't forget him and I doubt CherryClan ever will, either.” Tawnystone nodded numbly. The tom was barely older than the two siblings; they had practically grown up together. Nightstar had even been Ravenflight’s mentor as an even younger warrior than he had been at the time of his death. He might have been seven moons older, but he still made sure that he checked in on the two kits, played with them every once in a while, and when it was time for Ravenflight and Tawnystone to let their paws take them on different paths, Nightstar, then Nightstorm, helped Ravenflight along his, and helped Tawnystone a bit even with hers...but, in a way, hindered the she-cat in a way that no other cat knew about... Tawnystone shook her head. No, she couldn’t remember that...he was gone. But she did let her mind slip into a reverie slowly, but surely, one of almost eight moons ago...
Tawnystone was placing her herbs onto their correct shelves, paws trembling with anger. How could this have happened? Why had it had to happen? She sighed, and an herb slipped as she felt a pelt rub against hers. Fur hot with anger and newly added embarrassment, Tawnystone whipped around to see Nightstar standing beside her. The tom hadn't been named leader any more than two moons ago, yet he was still quite young... But, Tawnystone reasoned, I'm young myself, for a medicine cat... "What do you want?" she growled. Nightstar pushed his muzzle into her fur. "Tawnystone...I'm so sorry," he murmured. "I didn't mean to make you mad...I didn't think it would ever come to this..." Tawnystone sighed. "We can't keep it here," she whispered. "You'll have to find something to do with it... I just hope I won't show... Firekit is looking like a likely candidate for a new apprentice, and he'll catch on fast if I get too big..." Nightstar let out a tiny mrrow of laughter. "Don't worry," he tried to reassure her. "Even if the Clan does find out, which they won't, anyway, we'll make up some excuse..." Tawnystone let her gaze wander away from the cat that had given her the little creature in her belly, the tiny creature that could ruin her life. "I hope you're right," she whispered, almost too quietly for him to hear her.
Tawnystone stood in her den, head hung low. Now that Nightstar was dead...she felt dead. She and only she held the secret of her kin...of the kit that had been dropped at some other Clan's paws, at its mercy. Where had that kit ended up? Tawnystone had let Nightstar take her when she was just born; Tawnystone had said she was going to the Moonstone when she was ready to kit, so no cat thought twice. She never did show, and when she kitted she found out why: the kit was tiny. She was a tortoiseshell, like Tawnystone, with some darker colors and a white muzzle like Nightstar. Tawnystone sighed. How could she ever explain to this kit (considering she was still alive) that she was hers and why she had given her up? The tortoiseshell she-cat padded into her den and called, "All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting!" So there is life after death, after all....

Meteorcrash had walked into camp, ahead of Tawnystone who carried the dead body of his former leader. Meteorcrash walked in a calm daze. He knew what he was doing and where he was going, but he only did it with half of his mind set on it. He stopped near the Leader's den. "...Nightstar..." He mumbled calmly, but the sadness in his voice was easy to hear. He looked up at the highrock. He'd be one of the cats who'd have to talk to the clan. If nothing else then to just reassure them that everything will be okay, somehow, someway.
He looked over at Tawnystone as she called a clan meeting and edged a bit closer to the highrock.

"Get up there, you great lump!" a forcedly-playful voice purred to Meteorcrash. Tabby Brackenpaw stood near him, her amber eyes shining with pain and emotion and her fur splashed with blood. A cut oozed blood from her ear, but she paid it no attention. She focused merely on the tom before her, nodding in quiet encouragement. "You were Nightstar's deputy, after all." With a small smile, the young she-cat turned and went to sit next to quite Ravenflight.
Clearpool's voice was locked in her throat. She wanted to wail to StarClan above and let her sorrow echo out, but her shock held it all in still. She had managed to pull her four kits in close and gave them each thorough face-licks, even though she was the one blood-spattered and dusty.
Hazefur sat in silence, his amber eyes down at his paws. If only he'd been there to help... Maybe he could have died in Nightstar's place... Once again, CherryClan had lost yet anothe leader. Pain gripped his heart and the old tom felt ancient. He wondered how he'd last to see Petalpaw warriored. For the time being, he lifted his golden gaze to the mottled medicine cat.

Stormpaw sat in the clearing, his head down. The scratches he got from the battle still stung but he ignored the pain. The tom was young, but he still knew Nightstar. Even the youngest kit would be shaken by the leader's death. Somehow he felt as if it was partially his fault. He was there, at the fight with the rogues but he couldn't save the leader...He was pretty sure that he recognized one of the rogues, but he couldn't get a good look at the cat.

Firestone entered the camp, scratches covering his body and his ears drooping. His amber eyes were no longer bright with fire or pain, merely dull with loss and confusion. He spotted Brackenpaw and padded over to her, licking her wounded ear tenderly, ignoring the blood on his pelt. He licked his sister comfortingly, though he desperately wanted comfort himself.

Meteorcrash looked at Brackenpaw and smiled slightly. With a nod, he jumped up and on top of the highrock. He then looked down on all the cats. No matter how calm and wise he was, he still had little experience at this and he knew it. "Fellow Cherry clanners..."He began, to get everyone's attention.
Petalpaw shivered slightly as her mom licked her. She looked over at her mentor, Hazefur. What about him? Was he okay? He looked unhappy...
(For now, Meteorcrash is the supposed leader, right? Does he announce his stepping down from leadership during the trip to Taragoff Park? )

((Yes, I think that would be best, Diamond... Right now is DEFINITELY not the right time, and the cats don't know about...moving completely yet...))
Tawnystone nodded to Meteorcrash, letting him know that she was beside him in his decision, whatever it was. He was to be the new leader; she would be his adviser, medicine cat, Clanmate, and friend. "CherryClan," she meowed. "Nightstar is dead, as you all know. He was killed by...rogues," she meowed, unsure about what those murderous cats truly were. They were after more than causing trouble, that was for sure... Her head hung low, she continued, "This is a tragedy...but we must carry on." She dipped her head to Meteorcrash and stepped back, but stayed on the Highrock as she began to think about the events that had taken place. This was strange... The foxes and these rogues had appeared when BrookClan had started to thin out...and grow skinnier...and ask for more land... Tawnystone frowned. Surely not...BrookClan? Why would they have done this...? But... She gasped as the realization hit her. Fernstar had been asking for territory. The foxes had been used to help. She remembered her dream, the one of a late night...
She had floated into StarClan's territory. The star-cats had fallen gracefully from the sky, and she nuzzled some of them affectionately. Directly after, they had disappeared, but voices still were with her. She couldn't understand the whispers as the night grew darker, but red pelts began to slink out of the darkness, glowing slightly. She took in a sharp breath as she realized that there were not only red pelts, but black, too...and there were foxes and cats together. At the beginning of that line was a bloody black-and-white cat with mis-matched eyes and...a tabby. The cats leaped at the black-and-white cat as the tabby cat raced away, foxes following.
Now it made sense. Yes, it was finally all coming together...

))Brilliant Stormeh, brilliant. x3 Tawnystone'll be revered as a medicine cat after this... -sigh- You still can't help but feel bad for Fernstar, can you? I mean, she was doing what she thought was best for her clan. BrookClan was dying...((

((I know... =/ I really like Fernstar, too. I think she's a great leader, but just a bit off on decision-making... Glad you liked that... I figured it would fit in nicely.))

Stormpaw kept his head lowered, his mind clouded with confusion. Who were these rogue cats? Where did they come from? Why did they seem so familiar? Why are they bothering CherryClan when they did nothing to the rogues? Why did they have to kill Nightstar? Did they even know what kind of effect that'd have on the clan? Did they do it intentionally? Was CherryClan secretly being watched? Did they have anything to do with the recent complications with foxes? So many questions buzzed through his head and he only got more and more disappointed when he couldn't think of any answers.
