Both Cheetahstar and our previous medicine cat Watermint are now gone, so there's a lot new going on in RavineClan. We could use more cats, but overall we're doing pretty good!
I am sorry to say that there will be an absence among our presence; I, Raven, will be taking a vacation for about two weeks. From the 18th to the 31st. You also should know that all mini-plots have been put off, seeing as Dark has returned! Celebrate! Don't forget to advertise, everyone, vitally important! ~Raven, Ineffable and Unforgettable Leader of TealClan~ 7/14/07
The new leader for RavineClan has been chosen: Fawkes! Congrats. ^^
During Dark's absence, Clan leaders are encouraged to think of a plot that will involve their Clan only.
Also, ADVERTISE! We could use some more active members. Post about the Dawn Clans on Neopets, other Proboards sites, or any other place that you can think of to find new members.
~Stormeh, Leader of CherryClan~
BrookClan need she-cats of any ages. We've got two she-cats total, including Fernstar. We are still without a medicine cat, so please apply.
The War is over, but is the danger past?
For many long season, a great war raged between the four Clans. Kits were murdered in their sleep; apprentices were slaughtered after only a few dawns of training; warriors were lucky to live to recieve their first apprentice. Clans went through leaders in a short matter of dawns instead of seasons. Finally, four leaders decided to end the War and save what remained of their Clans before all four Clans fell to injuries or illness. With the threat gone, the Clans began to grow again.
But does the threat remain, or is the peace permanant?

Cheetahthorn was growing more and more tired. It was beginning to get hard to keep his one eye open. He looked towards Brownpaw, tiredly, a small smile crossing his face. "You know," he whispered, "I would have expected you to be a warrior by now." He blinked, nearly leaving his eye closed. He felt sore and just wanted to relax, but what he wanted to say was too important... at least to him. "Brownpaw, I must say... I wish you were my son. You and your brother." His gold eye watched the apprentice as, quietly, he began to drift away into sleep. He blinked a few more times, each longer than the last, until, finally, it didn't open.

Chasmstride looked annoyedly at Silverhawk. It was true, he was no medicine cat, but he was just trying to help. Trying to make sure that he wasn't needed anymore, there was no need to be so rude about it. Letting it go, he wasn't about to start a spat with a needed medicine cat, so he turned away, a little huffy. Chasmstride looked toward Swifteyes as she walked toward him, clearly more concerned than she should be. He was fine, he had barely been there long enought to do anything. He had a small scratch from the undergrowth as he had raced through it, but other than that, he was absolutely fine. "No need to worry, I'm fine." He didn't know why she would be so concerned, but he took it as a complement that she would even care. Trying not to convey his irritated mood onto her, he gave her a small smile and sat down, curling his tail around his paws and took a deep breath, "How about you? Are you injured at all?" Swifteyes had arrived the same time that he had, but he hadn't seen whether she had been in on the fighting as everything had happened so quickly in the fray."

Swifteyes smiled as well and sat down next to Chasmstride. "I'm fine." She replied. She rested her tail down, but instantly lifted it when she felt Chasmstride's tail. "S-sorry." She apologized quickly, embarrassed. The silence that now lay in between the two was awkward, but there was nothing to talk about. She would bring up Cheetahthorn, but everyone has been talking about the tom and she had grown tired of it. "The other day," She began, looking over at Chasmstride. "I was talking to you. Then I left to go to sleep. I believe it was the day of the fox attack. I'm sorry, I suppose that was a bit rude."

Silverhawk paused what he was doing when he heard Cheetahthorn speak. His white whiskers twitched in agreement about Brownpaw being a warrior, but fell still at what the injured tom said next. The medicine cat's sharp amber eyes turned to his brother to watch his reaction. He knew something niether of them knew yet, but this was certainly not the moment. To tell his brother now would crush him with stress, exhaustion, and worry... But Silverhawk couldn't help but think of it. Gryffinwing was back in camp then, pregnant with Brownpaw's kits. Cheetahthorn's words made silent worry curse through the silver tom's veins. Imagine what it would be like to actually be Cheetahthorn and Darkrain's kits... Imagine the power and legacy that would fill Brownpaw's unborn kits. The grandkits of two great warriors, as well as fierce Gryffinwing and patient Brownpaw. Their blood would be envied by all clans, for there were many cats in the clans just then that had blood of far off places. But something else came to mind after Cheetahthorn spoke. Silverhawk thought quickly of an auburn tabby who looked almost exactly like Brownpaw. The strange tabby filled the medicine cat's dreams often, guiding him and giving him advice. He was thinking of Redmartin, the father of the two brothers. Redmartin had been born of two RavineClanners, apprenticed not long after Darkrain and Cheetahthorn. Redmartin had died a warrior, and his blood was certainly worthy to descend the generations of RavineClanners. Darkrain and Cheetahthorn had passed knowledge, patience, and skill onto Silverhawk and his brother, but it was Redmartin's blood they carried. Still, Silverhawk sat in silence, awaiting his brother's reaction.
A small sigh escaped Brownpaw, eyes closing slightly. "I wish the same, Cheetahthorn, I wish the same," he said quietly, leaning down to give the spotted warrior a soft lick on the ear. He could find no greater honor than to have been the son of such a great warrior. His amber eyes settled onto Cheetahthorn's side, watching the gentle rise and fall of his chest.

Chasmstride twisted his tail awkwardly when he felt Swifteye's tail brush his own. He wasn't sure if she meant to do that or not, he simply ignored it and acted like nothing happened. The fur on the back of his neck was starting to stand up with the tension between the two of them, though he had no idea why. "It's fine." He quickly decided to change the subject, not really wanting to stand the awkwardness any longer. With all the things going on with the camp and Cheetahthorn, he didn't want anything else to worry about. "Don't worry about it, we were all a little...disoriented that day. It threw the entire clan off." He gave her another small, encouraging smile, trying to take the edge off of her tense demeanor. It was strange, none of the other cats acted like this around him, and Swifteyes didn't act like this around any of the other warriors either. He had been watching her lately, and he had noticed the difference in behavior. It unsettled Chasmstride, made him uneasy as he detected small things that she did when she was around him. He didn't necessarily know if it was a good thing, or if she just didn't like him. But then why would she initiate conversation like she was? It just didn't make any sense, so he tried to just ignore his churning belly and act normal...as much as he could. His dark eyes were almost glued to Swifteye's, but he tore them away for a moment so that he could breathe again. Her gaze seemed to suck the life out of him, and fill him with the most satisfying warmth he had ever experienced all at the same time. He had never felt anything like this before, and hadn't until now. The strangest feelings were overcoming him, which was a feat in itself. Chasmstride was a quiet cat, not known to be overwhelmed by his own feelings or instincts. He merely did what he knew to be right. This was different, he had absolutely no idea what to do. He turned his attention to the discussion a few tail lengths away, but knew that he should just stay out of that conversation. It was none of his concern when Brownpaw became a warrior, and he liked to stay out of sitations that didn't have anything to do with him. Putting his nose where it didn't belong had always gotten him into trouble, and he didn't need anything more to worry about at the moment. But he was between to extremely awkward conversations...taking a deep breath, he turned back to Swifteyes. "Lot of things going on, huh?" Wow....great conversation starter. But it was the best he could do under the circumstances. He was an awkward cat at the best of times, and now it was worse than ever. He tried to give another smile, but ended up just twitching his ears a few times at the breeze that swirled in through the barn doors.

"Yeah." Swifteyes replied, making a weak laugh. She kept her light blue eyes on Chasmstride, unable to move them. She let out a yawn. It had been another busy day. Slowly, she rested her head on Chasmstride's shoulder, barely even realizing what she was doing.
